We are looking for a strategic, culture-centric, and proactive Senior People Business Partner to join our growing Human Resource team. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, and working closely with the People team, the PBP will be a resource to our people managers and employees alike, helping drive effective and impactful performance management and employee engagement.

What you’ll do

  • Foster nbkc talent + business partnerships 
    • Partner with leaders to design people strategies, build high performing teams and programs that scale the organization, and develop best in class leaders.
    • Foster a culture that recognizes and celebrates our talent. Protect our unique culture and ensure nbkc bank continues to be one of the best places to work.
  • Employee Relations & Performance Management 
    • Act as a single point of contact for all people matters. 
    • Partner with managers and employees through the separation process.         Conducts exit interviews, monitors trends and provides data to identify areas of opportunity and needed focus
    • Identify and deploy impactful people policies and programs that enable the organization to perform effectively and scale efficiently as it grows.
    • Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations for a wide range of issues. May include conducting investigations in response to issues and recommend/implement course of action based on investigation results
    • Help implement and own the performance management process to ensure employees and managers are trained on the performance management processes and work with management to facilitate goal setting and development plans.
    • Maintain Performance and Engagement systems, review processes and vendor relationships.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed.
    • Maintain and update Employee Handbook, workplace posters, required employment related communications, policies and procedures. 
  • Employee Engagement and People Analytics
    • Leverage people analytics and trained instincts to anticipate issues or opportunities and bring data driven solutions that move the needle.
    • Partner closely with various leaders to develop a strategy and roadmap to significantly enhance people reporting and analytics capabilities.
    • Develop and deliver key reporting and analytical support for the HR organization and people managers, focused on creating robust reporting capabilities and manager dashboards in Quantum.
    • Maintain Performance and Engagement systems, review processes and vendor relationships.
    • Help implement and own the performance management process to ensure employees and managers are trained on the performance management processes and work with management to facilitate goal setting and development plans.

What you’ll bring

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience working in Human Resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent judgment, strong communications skills, and proven ability to navigate sensitive employee concerns with care; experience and pattern recognition in handling a wide range of HR questions and interpersonal situations. 
  • Strong competency within the HR function including employee relations, talent management, compliance, and change management.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and an ability to influence managers/leaders with data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience.
  • Prior knowledge of payroll/HRIS system, Microsoft Office applications and internet usage. ADP experience preferred 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and goals. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.
