HR Generalist – Yarco Corporate

This position is responsible for providing vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the development of a cost-effective human resources management system (HRMS) while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the HR organization. Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional related activities within the scope of the HRMS. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity and successful delivery of functional services to users throughout the organization.

The HR Generalist also assists with administering corporate employment practices and performs all other responsibilities in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, and corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.  This position provides an effective channel of communication between company management and employees, in order to help ensure positive employee relations.   This position also manages the benefits administration of the employee benefit offerings.

  • Projects/Process Improvement
    • Administers assigned components of HRIS System, programs, and processes in accordance to established policies, procedures, and/or laws, components to include but are not limited to:
      • Benefits enrollment
      • Performance Management
      • Compensation Management
      • Applicant Tracking
      • Onboarding
      • Data access
    • Serves as subject matter expert to keep the HR team, employees, and managers up-to-date on capability and functionality of HRIS system
    • Be expected to provide guidance and recommendations and assist with the development of any functional specifications, test programs, design guides when needed.
    • Develop, write, maintain and support a variety of reports and queries using appropriate reporting tools.
    • Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on process improvement
    • Work with HR and Payroll Department to map out current processes to be integrated to new HRIS System
    • Participate in weekly team meetings to monitor progress milestones
    • Implements HRIS upgrades and tracks system changes and/or new products to recommend possible changes to accomplish company’s overall objectives.
    • Perform system and testing audits for data accuracy, integrity, and functionality. Analyze and document results and discrepancies.
    • Develop and track metrics to measure HRIS operational effectiveness and facilitate discussions for business process improvement.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Interprets and monitors the application of company human resource policies and procedures ensuring consistency and fairness in all employment practices.
  • Benefits Administration and Wellness
    • Monitor and audit vendor file feeds to ensure benefit data is transmitted accurately
    • Participate on managing Yarco’s annual benefit enrollment process including employee communication, HRIS design, and benefit audit, etc.
    • Maintains cooperative relationships with Benefit Providers, Brokers and Agents. Assists executive management in benefit plan reviews, and necessary negotiations of plan changes.
    • Assists with ongoing Yarco’s Wellness initiatives which includes managing Yarco’s annual wellness event(s)
    • Administers and managed FML and leave of absences and affiliated anxillary benefits
  • Employee Relations
    • When circumstances require it, functions as a trusted, confidential channel of communications between employees and their managers, or employees and executive management.
    • Remains current with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning all employment matters, including wage and hour laws, overtime and minimum wage regulations, and regulations applicable to employee benefits (COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA). Ensures that Yarco employment practices are compliant with these laws and regulations.
    • Provides staff assistance in the administration of recreational activities and other programs aimed at maintaining employee interest, participation and morale.
    • Provide consistent, prompt and courteous service to all company employees, customers, and outside stakeholders.
    • Practices and promotes teamwork at all times. Sets a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • Five (5) years’ Human Resource experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification (or equivalent) of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) as issued by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), or equivalent SHRM-CP as issued by Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) is a plus; or be on track to be certified within 12 months of date of hire is a plus.
  • Wide range of technical skills including strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems, performance management systems, onboarding, time and attendance and benefits administration is preferred.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people of varying backgrounds and personalities.
  • Ability to deal directly with Senior Management to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and contribute to a positive work culture.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication stills.

  • HRIS experience is required, one (1) to two (2) years’ UltiPro Mid-Market experience is preferred.

  • Driver must provide proof of personal auto liability insurance when using vehicles for company business

Qualifications

Education

Required

High School or better.

Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.
