Human Resource Manager

Independence, MO

We are representing our client in the search for a Human Resource Manager to be based at their facility in Independence , Missouri . Our client is a progressive, well respected, asset based distribution management company that provides a variety of transportation services.

The Role…

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department. This person will manage the administration of the human resource policies, procedures and programs.

Major accountabilities will include…

Departmental development –leading, managing and developing others within the HR function of the business unit (three direct reports)
Employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.
Developing, maintaining and enforcing policies related to safety, workers compensation, health insurance, payroll, retirement planning, recruiting and employee training/development
Managing all recruiting, communication, information and marketing for all positions in the company
Managing and maintaining all social media sites for all companies, including the company intranet.

Successful candidates will bring…

Demonstrated success in human resources with managerial-level experience, trucking transportation industry experience is strongly preferred.
Advanced understanding of best practices in recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, organizational development, legal compliance, employee relations and policy preparation.
Must have a creative personality that can develop ideas in the area of driver recruiting and retention within a team setting.
Experience with government safety regulations is preferred, but not required.
Excellent understanding of the technologies available to assist in HR management and the ability to apply technologies appropriately in the workplace.
Bachelor degree in HR or related field is required.
