About Shelly Freeman:

Ms. Freeman joined Lathrop & Gage in December 2001 and has practiced with Lathrop & Gage since that time.  She is President of HROI, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lathrop & Gage LLP, that conducts management training and investigation services for companies through the country.  Prior to joining Lathrop & Gage LLP, Ms. Freeman was the director of human resources for Payless Cashways, Inc. from January 2000 through August 2001, where she directed and supervised a full range of human resources functions for the manufacturing, distribution and retailing components.  Before taking the HR position with Payless Cashways, Ms. Freeman was an equity partner with Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin, where she managed an effective human resources/management consulting practice in employment law and labor relations for 11 years.

Ms. Freeman is a frequent speaker and trainer for such organizations as the American Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Section; the Missouri Bar; the Heartland Labor & Employment Law Institute; the University of Kansas School of Law; the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM); the Missouri Chamber of Commerce; the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce; and many private companies.
